The Take Tombo is an ancient Japanese flying toy. I have replaced the traditional twirling stick with a gear train.   It is intended as a fun and fairly easily built project. It demonstrates the principals of all gear trains and gives you the possibility to test your scroll/band saw skills.   If you can build this you should have little problem with a wooden clock.   The plans are in PDF format and full scale.
